There is one way you can cut down your kilojoule intake dramatically: don’t drink any kilojoules.
That means:
- no alcohol
- no orange juice
- no smoothies
- no VitaminWater
- no milk in your tea or coffee
- no flavoured water
- no Red Bull
- no diet soft drinks
- no chai teas
- no hot chocolate
So you’re thinking “but it’s so few kilojoules, it hardly matters!” Yes, it does. Find out how many kilojoules are in your favorite drink, multiply by how often you have it, and see what number pops up. Over the course of a day your little indulgences can add up to a staggering number of kilojoules.
If you’re drinking something for nutritional reasons, like fruit juice, you’re better off getting those nutrients from eating the actual fruit.
It’s a simple way to cut out a lot of kilojoules with very little effort. And there’s nothing wrong with simple, clean water. Or drink black coffee, it’s packed with antioxidants.
