These little meatballs make perfect kiddies lunch-box munchies or party snacks.
Ingredients
500g ostrich mince
1 onion, very finely chopped
5ml (1 t) finely chopped green chilli
5ml (1 t) ground cumin
5ml (1 t) ground coriander
5ml (1 t) salt
2ml (½ t) turmeric
30ml (2 T) chopped coriander
Dhal
250ml (1 C) fat free plain yoghurt
salt and milled black pepper
2ml (½ t) finely chopped green chilli
2ml (½ t) ground cumin
10g fresh coriander, washed, dried and roughly chopped
5ml (1 tsp) lemon juice

Mix ingredients together in a bowl, cover and chill well while you make the meatballs.
Preheat the oven grill on its hottest setting. Mix all the ingredients together and form the mixture into 18g balls. Thread 3 meatballs onto metal skewers and place on a greased baking sheet and pop under a piping hot grill for 8-10 minutes until just cooked through. Alternatively, braai over hot coals. Serve warm with the yoghurt dhal.
