This crunchy and delicious mixture of nuts, seeds and dried fruit will keep you energised.

Have it with yoghurt or low-fat milk or just munch on it on your way to work. Nuts are low GI and rich in monounsaturated fats, but are also kilojoule dense so should be eaten in moderation if you’re watching your weight.

Enough for 12 servings

5 cups Bokomo oats
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup unsalted sunflower seeds
1 cup pumpkin seeds
2 T sesame seeds
1/4 cup honey
1 tbsp avocado oil
1/4 cup dried apricots, finely sliced
1/2 cup dried pears, finely sliced
1/2 cup dried figs, halved
1/4 cup dried cranberries
low-fat yoghurt, to serve

1. Preheat the oven to 160°C.
2. Mix the oats, almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds in a deep oven tray.
3. Melt the honey and oil in a microwave bowl. Pour the mixture over the oat mixture and stir until all are well coated. Bake for 30 min. stirring occasionally. Then remove from the oven and allow cooling.
4. Add the rest of the dried fruit and toss to combine. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
