L’Oréal Hairdressers Against AIDS launches international digital awareness campaign
Hairdressers Against AIDS (HAA) is an advocacy program supported by UNESCO and the L’Oréal Foundation empowering salon professionals worldwide to use their unique relationship with their clients and communities to become a resource to interact, educate and help prevent the spread of HIV.
In conjunction with World AIDS Day, HAA today launched four training videos for hairdressers and an online quiz, to share knowledge and drive awareness about the importance of AIDS prevention. This digital campaign marks the 10th anniversary of the Hairdressers Against AIDS programme, which have involved 1.5 million hairdressers in 35 countries.
HAA aims fight against the negative behaviour and stigmas associated with the disease and educate local hairdressers on how they can help tackle AIDS in their communities.
World AIDS Day is held on 1 December each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day and the first one was held in 1988.
Together, we can become a powerful voice – for a beautiful world without AIDS. Please visit www.hairdressersagainstaids.com or join us on Facebook to learn more.
