To achieve washboard abs you need to eat well, do cardio and work your abdominal muscles.
Crunches alone won’t give you a flat belly, you need a combination of cardio and healthy eating too.
Start by cutting certain foods out of your diet, improve your digestion, then combine a cardio routine with abdominal work to achieve flat abs.

ive read the whole article. Sounds good but what i would like to know is what can u do about that excess skin after having kids. That really seems to pose more of a problem than anything else. I have worked out but the most i get is a ”4 pack” the area just below the navel is the worst to get rid of. What can women who’ve had kids & have this problem do about it or is it just there for good? Why dont u people take someone who has had more than one kid & whose of ”normal” weight but has the kango pouch & try them on a diet & exercise programme & diarise their progress. Im pretty sure theres alot of moms out their that would follow this programme. Most of the women in your magazine doesnt even look like they have a ”shape” problem. Even the women who is pinching her tummy as if thats ”real” fat or flab. Show something more realistic please!
Well said Taahira! I am not overweight but also have a problem with my tummy. I have 2 kids and just can’t get rid of that kango pouch. Please help!!
Sooo true taahira! i had my baby 3 years ago and i am still struggling with the fat below the navel, how does one get rid of that? Shape – we need an informed article dedicated to losing the kangaroo pouch post pregnancy
i’ve been thinking of losing wait, but i don,t have the guts to do it plz help
I would like to know what to use on strech mark after ahve a baby and losing tummy fat its spoiling me badly.
I agree with taahira. Most models used are fitness models. Even though they had kids their bodies reacted differently than “real” women. And let us don’t lose sight of the photo shop images. I applaud Shape for not using annorexic models, but these models are just too perfect to be real. I like taahira’s idea of the real mom, real progress idea. Would be more inspiring.
Pilates!! That will help tone and tighten the area below your navel.
Only plastic surgery can take that excess skin away, sorry girls, but thats the unfortunate truth. Celebs have it done all the time!
I’m definately a mommy that would love some help to get rid of the kangaroo pouch i kept after having my babies. It’s really unsightly and influences my confidence dramatically. I can live with the stretch marks, but still struggle to accept my tummy after 11yrs of having it. If you ever need a volunteer…don’t hesitate to contact me
i would love to get rid of my tummy without surgery.
I’m in my 60s and STILL want to look like a young model … duh! Talk about setting myself up to fail. What we ALL need are examples of maintainable bodies at different stages of our lives … and our job is to then work on accepting this relevant body image … do you have articles in your archives that address this, please?
Hi I am a mum of three ….and I am also having a problem….’kangaroo pouch”…mine is not excessive….but I want to have a sexy flat ab……after reading this entire section …I am sure going to try some of at least. Presently I do tummy exercises but that “pouch” is always there. if anyone has any other info they could share on this topic….it would be gr8.
Hi there, You’ve done an excellent job. I will certainly digg it and personally suggest to my friends. I’m confident they’ll be benefited from this website.
Absolutely well said, Taahira! The kangaroo pouch (yes! i sport one too) is definitely an issure you where you wont find any/many solutions for. And please motivate me/us by using women with more realistic SHAPES so that my goal is more realistic. I’m 100% sure none of ur models have had babies!
Hi Guys !! I’m a mother of two and as skinny and health conscious as I’ve always been, (1.68M and 52 – 54 kgs now for the past 15 years) my post baby tummy has stayed with me. The truth really is that it depends on the elasticity of your skin – and I have been to see 3 renowned plastic surgeons, all of which have advised me that no amount of cardio, exercise, dieting, tummy crunches will get rid of the excess skin. I’m scheduled for a mini tummy tuck in 4 weeks and have made peace with it!!!
i have two kids, started running recently but my jelly belly won’t go . Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A tummy tuck sound good .How much does it cost though?
I have two kids,l recently started running and dancing but my flab won’t go. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
