Jeannie D shares her workout and diet tips.

Pint-sized dynamo Jeannie D hardly ever sits still. This busy-body’s career has mushroomed from radio DJ to one of SA’s best-loved TV presenters, and she’s much in demand as an MC, a model and hostess of a new TV travel show with hunky Janez Vermeiren.

To keep her energy levels at their peak, Jeannie is disciplined about what she eats. “I avoid wheat and sugar and eat very little red meat. I snack on rice cakes with sugar-free peanut butter and to beat cravings, I eat often, because as soon as I starve myself I start reaching for the wrong things.”

“I train four times a week: 20 minutes on the treadmill followed by weights or boxing work with my trainer. And once a week I do Pilates on a reformer machine.”

Jeannie also shared a a diet tip for when she craves something sweet “I freeze some plain, fat-free yoghurt and have that as a treat”. She also added that crash diets don’t work, and that she believes in a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

Jeannie tweeted this outtake photo from a recent Shape photo shoot:
