One of the things we take for granted is putting a towel around ourselves when we’re done bathing. What we never think about is that when you are overweight, a bath towel (normal size) is a no-go zone for yourself as it won’t fit! Can you imagine! And when you’re really overweight, even a bath sheet leaves an open space even after you’ve tucked it in under your armpit. These are the things I’m now getting excited over, a bath sheet that not only fits, but goes around my body quite snugly. Believe it or not it’s the little things that count when those cravings for forbidden foods kick in.
Do you know what else I’m noticing is fitting better? My shoes! Only 8kgs off now and my feet are getting smaller. I think it’s really unbelievable. My wedding ring is twisting around my finger so easily I will have to watch it when I wash my hands. Don’t even get me started on packing for gym in the evening. Now I can confidently just pack my work clothes in the evenings without having to try them on first. Yes, trying my OWN clothes on so I don’t get a nasty surprise at gym when my shirt does not button up, or my skirt does not zip up! These are things we take for granted when we are of a normal body weight. I’m relishing the feeling of working towards a normal body weight though. Let’s see what else is going to pleasantly surprise me before the festive season kicks in;)!

Well done my friend!
You are right when we are young we take our health for granted. It is easy to fall off the wagon but it takes strength and determination to get back on.
Hats off to you to realise what is important. You have my support.

You go girl, you are doing this for yourself, soon you will be proud of yourself and you will be a great role model for your son and other people in the same situation. I have been there before, I know how it feels like, I moved from a size 44 to a size 34, so it is possible. All the best.
Hi Glendah. I’ll keep that in mind when the going gets tough. how long did it take you to get there?
Keep it up gal. You inspire me as I am on the same Journey. I smile when I read your diary and also can relate to what you are going through. I will definately follow you for I know I need to be inspired from time to time. Keep it up.
